About Joseph Estee

Joseph Estee began his martial arts training in the 1980s during his youth, which evolved into a lifelong pursuit of mastery across multiple systems. With over three decades of focused study, practice, and teaching in martial arts and hand-to-hand combat, his training spans traditional Okinawan karate, Chinese internal boxing, and Israeli combative tactics - reflecting a lifelong commitment to the integration of structure, flow, and function.

Having trained intensively under renowned masters across multiple disciplines, Mr. Estee is recognized as an accredited Master Instructor and continues to teach and oversee programs throughout the Northeastern United States. His teachings are informed by six years in the health and wellness industry and more than twenty years of biomechanical research, providing a scientific and practical foundation to traditional martial training.

Krav Maga – Israeli Hand-to-Hand Combat

(M1) Master Level 1 (Sixth degree black belt), certified by Krav Maga: Ne’emanei Imi. A second-generation practitioner under Master James Keenan, one of the foremost teachers and a significant contributor to the development and preservation of Imi Lichtenfeld’s Krav Maga system. Mr. Estee began his Krav Maga training in 1995.

Okinawan Isshinryu Karate

Hachidan (Eighth Degree Black Belt), certified through the Traditional Isshinryu Karatedo Association (TIKA). Mr. Estee began his Isshinryu training in 1995, studying under senior instructors whose lineage traces directly to Master Tatsuo Shimabuku, the founder of Isshinryu. His continued practice emphasizes the structural integrity, precision, and combative efficiency that define traditional Okinawan karate, while integrating modern biomechanical understanding and internal martial principles.

Konanryu Tode

Menkyō Kaiden (Full Transmission), certified by the Dotokushin Bukyōkai (Dotokushin Martial Teaching Association). Mr. Estee trained under instructors whose lineage connects directly to the traditions recognized by the Nippon Kobudo Rengokai. Konanryu Tōde embodies the synthesis of Okinawan and Chinese martial heritage, emphasizing internal structure, relational movement, and the principles that reveal the art’s original intent.

Baguazhang – Eight Character Palm Internal Boxing

As a Master-level practitioner, he is certified by the Daode Wuxue She (Daode Martial Study Association), learning from teachers directly linked to the art's lineage.

Taijiquan – Chinese Internal Boxing

With study commencing in 1995, Mr. Estee has explored various Chinese Internal Boxing styles such as Yang, Chen, Hao, and Sun, each offering unique combat techniques. His training lineage can be traced back to the founders of these systems.

Master Estee continues to refine his skills under the mentorship of Grandmaster James F. Keenan, a globally recognized martial arts and self-defense master with over 55 years of teaching experience.
